Server – Food & Beverage

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and attentive Server to join our team at a Marriott hotel in Reykjavik. The role involves delivering food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests according to service standards.
• Set tables for various events and maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware.
• Answer menu questions, communicate special dietary needs and allergies to the kitchen.
• Record orders and transactions in the MICROS POS system.
• Check in with guests throughout the service to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete closing duties such as restocking, turning off lights, and presenting accurate checks for payment.
• Follow all company safety, security, and uniform policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant server or food‑and‑beverage experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lb unassisted and up to 50 lb with assistance.
• Capability to stand, walk, or sit for an entire shift and navigate stairs or ramps.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MICROS point‑of‑sale system.
