3D Artist – Game Asset Creation

About the role

Fenris Creations seeks a versatile 3D Artist to join the EVE Online art team in Reykjavík, creating high‑quality game assets from concept to final polish in the CARBON engine.

Key responsibilities

• Create production‑ready 3D assets from concept art or original designs, handling modelling, UVs, LODs, texturing, materials, VFX and final polish.
• Ensure assets meet artistic, technical and performance standards, collaborating with Technical Art and Engineering to stay within memory and performance budgets.
• Drive assets from initial idea through delivery, managing priorities, estimating tasks and communicating progress.
• Participate in art department idea development and cross‑disciplinary collaboration, presenting work and iterating based on feedback.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional experience creating game‑ready 3D assets or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent capability through a complete real‑time pipeline.
• Strong modelling, texturing and material creation skills with solid grounding in PBR authoring and understanding of real‑time rendering constraints.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assets from concept to final delivery, and communicate effectively in English.
• Interest in science‑fiction design and the visual universe of EVE Online.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard 3D software such as Maya or Blender and 2D tools like Photoshop.
• Experience with real‑time optimisation, including topology, LOD creation, texture budgets and draw‑call cost management.
• Ability to create or contribute VFX passes for assets; familiarity with the CARBON engine.
• Basic scripting in Python is a plus.
