EHS Specialist – Manufacturing (Reykjavik)

About the role

Alvotech is seeking an EHS Specialist to support its manufacturing operations in Reykjavik, Iceland. The role focuses on implementing, maintaining and continuously improving environment, health and safety programs within a dynamic biotech manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of EHS programs, training activities and facilitate risk assessments.
• Provide guidance to employees, contractors, vendors and visitors on EHS standards and company guidelines.
• Advise manufacturing teams on EHS requirements and best practices.
• Lead and participate in internal audits, inspections and compliance activities.
• Contribute to the implementation of industry best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in a Health & Safety role within a regulated industry.
• Understanding of biotechnology manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proactive mindset with sound judgment and ability to work independently.
• Candidates without direct EHS experience are welcome if they have relevant education, laboratory safety experience and a strong interest in an EHS career.
