Energy Officer / Process Energy Optimization Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Energy Officer who will lead energy‑efficiency initiatives within advanced foil forming processes. The role combines deep process knowledge with data‑driven and AI‑assisted methods to identify, validate, and sustain energy reductions while maintaining product quality, safety, and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and continuously improve the energy infrastructure to reduce losses and increase efficiency.
• Identify energy loss mechanisms in foil forming processes and quantify the impact of parameters such as speed, force, pressure, temperature, lubrication and tool condition.
• Use PLC, sensor and MES data to model energy consumption at cycle, batch and product levels, establishing baselines per material, product and machine.
• Define material‑specific, AI‑supported process windows that minimise energy use.
• Apply Six Sigma (DMAIC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to drive structured optimisation projects.
• Collaborate with AI and Data Science teams to develop predictive models, anomaly detection and AI‑based optimisation tools, ensuring they are physically plausible and interpretable.
• Report Energy Productivity (EP) progress, track KPIs and align local activities with group‑wide EP targets.
• Lead project management and industrial implementation of energy‑reduction measures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial energy optimisation, preferably in metal or foil forming environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work on machine‑level data (PLC, sensor, MES).
• Hands‑on experience with Six Sigma (DMAIC) and Design of Experiments.
• Ability to work closely with AI, Data Science and engineering teams.
