Senior Software Engineer, Development Infrastructure

About the role

The Development Infrastructure team at Asana builds the tooling and systems that enable engineers to bring ideas to production quickly and reliably. This senior engineer will design, develop, and operate infrastructure that powers the developer experience across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Innovate the architecture of development sandboxes and modernize the build system to accelerate iteration.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from design through rollout and operation, partnering with engineering teams to improve speed and reliability.
• Analyze existing systems to uncover issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend or infrastructure-focused software engineering experience in large codebases.
• Strong communication skills and ability to balance rapid delivery with risk mitigation.
• Curiosity about AI‑assisted engineering tools and emerging technologies.

Required skills

• AWS (or other major cloud platform) experience.
