Data Center Engineer

About the role

Penta Consulting is looking for an experienced Data Center Engineer to join a leading global technology organisation. This contract role is ideal for a hands‑on infrastructure professional who thrives in enterprise‑scale data centre environments and wants to work with Dell and Red Hat technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Dell PowerEdge servers.
• Manage and monitor server infrastructure using Dell OpenManage.
• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Perform server upgrades, patching and firmware maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and operating system issues.
• Support data centre operations, including deployments, migrations and refresh projects.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network and security teams to ensure optimal system performance.
• Follow operational procedures and keep accurate technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with Dell PowerEdge servers in a data‑centre setting.
• Strong knowledge of Dell OpenManage for server management.
• Hands‑on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Ability to work independently on long‑term contract assignments.
