Mechatronics Engineer – Drone Development

About the role

Join Laki Power to help automate power‑grid monitoring with the LKX‑DRONE. You will take the current prototype and turn it into a lighter, production‑ready system that can dock on live high‑voltage lines and operate in harsh environments.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical design of the drone, moving from prototype to a smaller, lighter production model.
• Develop docking mechanics and the charging interface that integrates with Laki’s power‑harvesting platform.
• Environmental hardening and testing to ensure operation in severe weather and EMI from high‑voltage lines.
• Prototyping, field tests and iterative improvements leading up to the commercial launch in 2027.

Required profile

• A degree in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience developing robotics or similar hardware.
• Solid experience with CAD software.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate within a team.
• Professional proficiency in English.
