Sales Engineer – Technical Sales Role

About the role

As a Sales Engineer at JBT Marel in Gardabaer, you will bridge the gap between customers, sales, engineering and project management. You will translate technical requirements into commercial solutions and see your work materialise into real food‑processing factories.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into technical and commercial proposals, working closely with Industry Sales Managers, Account Managers and global agents.
• Coordinate the full quotation and order process, including budget monitoring and milestone tracking.
• Manage projects ranging from €100 K to €2 M, sometimes larger, ensuring smooth delivery from quotation to final hand‑over.
• Assist in designing single machines as well as complete production lines.
• Participate in internal customer meetings and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with engineering, automation, installation and service teams to guarantee project success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• Interest in technology, sales and customer‑focused solutions.
• Some experience in a technical, sales or project role is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Icelandic.
• Curious, proactive and comfortable asking questions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a clear overview.
• Team player who enjoys working with diverse colleagues.
