Senior Procurement Specialist – New Product Introduction

About the role

Embla Medical is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to drive New Product Introduction (NPI) within its Global Procurement team. You will act as the primary link between R&D, Engineering and the supplier network, ensuring that new product designs meet cost, quality and supply‑chain objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main sourcing partner for R&D and Product Development throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead sourcing activities from concept and design through commercialization.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers for new technologies, materials and components.
• Manage RFQs, supplier selection and commercial negotiations for new projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable and cost‑effective.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, pilot production and product transfer.
• Assess supply‑chain risks and create mitigation strategies.
• Work cross‑functionally with Quality, Operations, Regulatory Affairs and Project Management to enable successful launches.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation through supplier collaboration and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply‑chain management, engineering or a related field.
• Experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier development or new‑product‑introduction environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Analytical, project‑management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, global setting.
• Fluent English.
• Experience in medical devices, healthcare or other regulated industries is a plus.
