Senior Salesforce Platform Developer

About the role

An Icelandic aviation company with a complex technology landscape uses Salesforce Service Cloud and Sales Cloud for its customer-facing operations. It is looking for a Senior Salesforce Platform Engineer to maintain, improve and simplify its enterprise Salesforce environment. The role combines hands-on development, platform operations and administration, with Service Cloud as the primary focus, and solutions must stay modular and migration-ready.

The engineer works with a senior full-stack architect, two Salesforce developers and integration engineers. Business trips to Reykjavik are mentioned.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and simplify the Salesforce environment, keeping solutions modular and migration-ready.
• Develop and administer Service Cloud, including high-volume contact center case management and routing.
• Refactor complex automation, including large Flows and migration from Process Builder or Workflow Rules.
• Manage production Service Cloud administration (profiles, permission sets, queues, Omni-Channel, skills, validation rules, reporting, sandbox refreshes, releases, platform health checks).
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, integrations and AI coding tools.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years of enterprise Salesforce development and technical leadership.
• Demonstrated ownership of a production Salesforce org, including incidents, releases, access governance and technical debt.
• Ability to design maintainable, modular solutions and make pragmatic build-versus-configure decisions.
• Fluent English; ability to work independently and communicate with engineering and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Service Cloud and Sales Cloud, with strong Apex and Flow skills and working knowledge of LWC.
• Salesforce DX, Git, REST APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture and CI/CD.
• Hands-on use of AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code) in Salesforce development.
• Plus: Salesforce certifications, CRM migration or decommissioning experience, and knowledge of Marketing Cloud integrations.
