Electrical Commissioning Manager – Data Centre Project

About the role

We are supporting a major data centre expansion in Iceland and need an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to lead the electrical commissioning strategy and delivery for the project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical commissioning activities from pre‑commissioning through to final handover.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, procedures and programmes.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with electrical contractors, specialist vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage commissioning of HV, LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, protection systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Review commissioning documentation, test procedures, method statements and inspection records.
• Coordinate electrical commissioning with mechanical, controls, BMS and CSA disciplines.
• Manage commissioning schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project programme.
• Monitor testing, witness verification activities and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain commissioning documentation, test results, punch lists and handover requirements.
• Ensure all activities meet project specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Work closely with the client and stakeholders to achieve successful system energisation and handover.
• Provide technical leadership to the wider commissioning team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical commissioning on large‑scale data centre or mission‑critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
• Experience commissioning UPS systems, generators, switchgear and distribution systems.
• Previous experience managing commissioning teams, contractors and specialist vendors.
• Understanding of commissioning methodologies, procedures and documentation.
• Experience in hyperscale, colocation or high‑density computing environments.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent understanding of quality, safety and commissioning standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary international project team.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
