Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, and ensure all building systems operate safely and efficiently. This full‑time onsite position supports the daily operations of the hotel’s facilities and guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities for shift handovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical room assets, and HVAC systems.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities; use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Carry out minor repairs: painting, drywall, wood trim, light bulb and filter replacement, plumbing unclogs, electrical component fixes, and landscaping upkeep.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, requisition parts, and record usage.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, painting, or hotel engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and navigating stairs.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic system basics.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall, and wood‑trim repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for inputting air‑handler schedules and temperature changes.
