Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role

Embla Medical is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join its Global Procurement team. The role focuses on New Product Introduction (NPI) and acts as the primary sourcing partner for R&D and product development throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, quality, operations and regulatory teams to bring innovative medical devices to market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for new product projects from concept through commercialization.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers capable of delivering new technologies, materials and components.
• Drive RFQ processes, supplier selection and commercial negotiations for NPI projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering and R&D to ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable and cost‑effective.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, pilot production and product transfer.
• Assess supply‑chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure continuity.
• Work cross‑functionally with Quality, Operations, Regulatory Affairs and Project Management to enable successful launches.
• Promote continuous improvement and cost optimisation through supplier collaboration and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply‑chain management, engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier development or NPI environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, global environment.
• Fluent English; experience in medical devices or regulated industries is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.
• Proficiency in sourcing and supplier management tools.
• Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) methodologies.
