Lead Mechanic

About the role

As a Lead Mechanic you will head the mechanic team and own daily workshop and warehouse operations in Reykjavík. You will organise workloads, train and develop the team, and actively participate in e‑scooter diagnosis and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and train the mechanic team, set daily priorities, allocate tasks and provide regular feedback.
• Diagnose and repair e‑scooters, support complex repairs and ensure quality checks before vehicles return to service.
• Manage vehicle flow from intake through repair to deployment, maintain accurate status records and reduce turnaround times.
• Own warehouse organisation and inventory management, conduct stock counts, track vehicles, batteries, tools and parts, and coordinate procurement.
• Maintain a safe and efficient warehouse through inspections, facility upkeep and employee training on workshop procedures and battery handling.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience as a mechanic (e‑scooters, e‑bikes, automotive or electronics) with prior team‑lead experience.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting ability combined with responsibility for people and warehouse operations.
• Experience managing inventory, maintaining accurate stock records and planning spare‑parts replenishment.
• Fluent in English with strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Proficiency with digital maintenance and inventory systems.
• Advanced use of Excel or Google Sheets for organising work and monitoring performance.
