Aircraft Mechanic / Maintenance Technician

About the role

Flugvélaverkstæði Íslands (FVI) seeks a motivated aircraft mechanic to join its workshop at Reykjavík Airport. The initial contract covers parental leave from April to October 2027, with the potential for permanent employment thereafter.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on piston‑engine aircraft.
• Troubleshoot faults, carry out repairs and replace components.
• Execute aircraft modifications and install new equipment.
• Complete maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Support daily workshop operations, adapting tasks to individual experience and authorisation.

Required profile

• Previous experience with piston‑engine aircraft maintenance (preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently, responsibly and safely.
• Good spoken and written English; Icelandic not required.
• Reliability and teamwork in a small workshop environment.
