Mandarin‑Speaking Nanny for International Family in Iceland

About the role

An international family based in Iceland is seeking a warm, experienced Mandarin‑speaking nanny to care for two young children (aged 4 and 2). The role combines daily childcare with language development, outdoor activities and light household support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day care for two children, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Encourage Mandarin language acquisition through conversation, play and everyday routines.
• Plan and deliver educational and nature‑based activities tailored to each child’s interests.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with snack preparation.
• Support light household duties, errands and meal preparation while the children attend preschool.
• Adapt schedule to the family’s extensive travel, including a month‑long stay in Cape Town each winter.
• Cycle with the children on a cargo bike or be willing to learn.

Required profile

• Native or fluent Mandarin speaker with excellent English communication.
• EU passport holder.
• Ideally 10+ years of professional childcare experience with multiple young children.
• Patient, energetic, physically active and able to keep up with two active children.
• Enjoys outdoor activities, travel and working as part of a family team.
• Flexible with hours and able to adjust to changing travel plans.

Required skills

• Fluent Mandarin (native preferred).
• Strong English language skills.
• Valid driver’s licence (desirable).
• Experience with cargo‑bike cycling or willingness to learn.
• Background in early years or primary education (desirable).
