About the role
Bókun, a Tripadvisor company, is looking for a motivated Back‑end Engineer to join its Reykjavík office. You will build and modernise the core booking‑management platform that powers thousands of tour and activity operators worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based services using the Play Framework.
- Refactor legacy code, reduce technical debt, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with product, design, and front‑end teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and guide the future direction of the back‑end platform.
Required profile
- 4+ years of professional experience building back‑end systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java and modern back‑end architectures.
- Fluent English communication skills.
