Capper Operator – 1st Shift (Food & Beverage Manufacturing)

About the role

The Capper Operator works the 1st shift on a food‑and‑beverage production line, operating and maintaining the capper machine to keep the line running efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, set up, change over and adjust the capper machine.
• Test pull‑up, vacuum and security functions to meet company standards.
• Clean the capper area and perform routine maintenance.
• Complete required paperwork and enter data into the touch‑screen system.
• Follow all safety, quality and regulatory procedures (SQF, GMP, OSHA, etc.).
• Operate a forklift and pallet jack to move pallets as needed (training provided).
• Stage caps for the shift’s production schedule.
• Execute instructions and production goals set by the supervisor.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred (3 years ideal).
• Ability to lift up to 80 lb frequently and push/pull loads over 315 lb.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending and climbing ladders or stairs.
• Fluent in reading and writing English.
• Capable of working in extreme temperatures (hot >110 °F or cold <‑20 °F).
• Willingness to wear a dust mask and follow LOTO procedures.
