Kitchen Manager

About the role

The Kitchen Manager leads daily kitchen operations for Opaa! Food Management, ensuring food quality, safety, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This role supports multiple satellite locations and works closely with school principals and district nutrition services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor food preparation to maintain quality, presentation, and sanitation standards.
• Investigate and resolve food‑quality or service complaints.
• Coordinate meal preparation and transportation to satellite buildings.
• Conduct daily safety and production meetings with kitchen staff.
• Supervise, train, cross‑train, and certify all kitchen stations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and FIFO inventory practices.
• Ensure compliance with Opaa! recipes, HACCP, HHFKA, CACFP, and local health regulations.
• Submit food and supply orders, complete production records, and perform daily tray counts.
• Communicate regularly with building principals and hold weekly update meetings.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to lead a kitchen team and manage production workflow.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and federal nutrition programs.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to address personnel issues and report concerns promptly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ADP time‑keeping system.
• Experience using the Boss inventory and production software.
• Working knowledge of HACCP compliance processes.
