Postdoctoral Fellow – Statistical Genetics and AI

About the role

This four‑year postdoctoral fellowship focuses on developing and applying innovative statistical and computational methods to large‑scale human genetic and biomedical data. The fellow will work within Amgen deCODE genetics, contributing to drug target discovery and precision medicine.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research at the intersection of statistical genetics and artificial intelligence.
• Develop and apply statistical, computational, and machine‑learning methods for analysis of population‑scale genomic and phenotypic datasets.
• Generate biological insights relevant to therapeutic discovery.
• Improve and implement genetic‑analysis workflows across Amgen deCODE genetics.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in human genetics, bioinformatics, AI, and therapeutic discovery.
• Present findings and publish results in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• PhD completed prior to start date in Statistics, Human Genetics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong record of scientific achievement demonstrated through peer‑reviewed publications.
• Expertise in statistical genetics, biostatistics, or computational genomics.
• Experience analyzing large‑scale human genetic or high‑dimensional biomedical datasets.
• Familiarity with statistical modelling, machine learning, and AI for biomedical research.
• Ability to develop innovative analytical approaches and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
