Director of Human Resources

About the role

The Reykjavik EDITION, a luxury hotel in Reykjavik, Iceland, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join its Executive Committee and help shape the hotel's culture, talent and leadership capability. Reporting directly to the General Manager with a functional line to the Regional Senior Director of Human Resources, the role leads the Human Resources Business Plan and covers talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce development, employee engagement, performance management and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the property's HR strategy, aligned with business objectives and EDITION brand standards.
• Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning and succession management.
• Champion associate engagement programmes, diversity initiatives and culture-building strategies.
• Partner with department leaders on leadership capability, development plans and high-performing teams.
• Oversee compensation, recognition and reward initiatives.
• Advise the General Manager, Executive Committee and ownership on people matters.
• Lead change management, organisational reviews and strategic workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Marriott policies and HR best practices.

Required profile

• A two-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, with at least four years' experience in HR, management operations or a related area; or a bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience leading HR functions in luxury hospitality or premium service environments.
• Strong expertise in talent acquisition, succession planning and organisational development.
• Commercial awareness, stakeholder management and coaching and mentoring skills.
