Registered Nurse – PACU (PRN)

About the role

We are seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality post‑operative care in a same‑day surgery setting. The RN will work independently to assess, treat, and discharge patients while adhering to physician orders and facility policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care for patients undergoing same‑day surgery.
• Assume total responsibility for patient care according to physician orders.
• Monitor and control use of supplies and ensure accurate charging.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, documenting all actions.
• Assess pain and nausea, providing appropriate medication.
• Provide psychological support to patients and families.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with physicians and external departments (e.g., radiology).
• Admit patients to the sit‑up area and discharge according to policy.
• Perform routine charging of medications and supplies.
• Respond independently in emergency situations, making quick, sound decisions.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Preferred: 2 years PACU/ASC experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Commitment to continuing education and CEU requirements.
