Europe Industrial Hygiene Manager – Flexible Location

About the role

The Europe Industrial Hygiene Manager will lead and harmonise Alcoa’s industrial hygiene programme across multiple European sites, ensuring employee health is protected through consistent, value‑added processes. The role combines strategic leadership, governance and subject‑matter expertise, with extensive travel and periods of on‑site support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and standardise regional Industrial Hygiene programmes and processes.
• Support implementation of IH systems, SDS, hazard identification, risk characterisation and exposure assessments.
• Partner with Corporate IH Manager and Health CoE to develop strategies that eliminate adverse health outcomes.
• Drive regional and global IH goals and KPIs, and participate in global technical forums.
• Provide expertise for REACH compliance, TSCA matters and audit self‑assessment tools.
• Coach and mentor IH professionals, building capability across the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years as an Industrial Hygiene professional in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience influencing senior leaders in large, complex organisations.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent EU/local designation.

Required skills

• Industrial hygiene principles: exposure assessment, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, radiation, asbestos, ergonomics.
• Hazardous materials management and new material reviews.
• Deep knowledge of European H&S regulations, including REACH and TSCA.
• Audit self‑assessment tools and EHS standards.
