Senior FreeCAD Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and validating detailed parametric CAD models that meet strict project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using best‑practice design methods.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure manufacturability.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with the team by providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field with a focus on parametric CAD.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings for manufacturing.
• Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying model compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills for remote, project‑based work.
