Associate Scientist, Cell Culture (USP Development)

About the role

Alvotech is looking for a dedicated cell culture associate scientist to join its Upstream Process (USP) research and development team. You will support the development of a small-scale bioreactor process for later scale-up and transfer to manufacturing, so that biosimilar products can be produced.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the USP Development laboratory clean and well organized, and manage, maintain and stock its inventory of raw materials, consumables and equipment supplies.
• Communicate with vendors on purchases and with warehouse, procurement and supply chain on orders and tracking.
• Track and perform regular equipment maintenance, keep logbooks, and help write and update equipment procedures and work instructions.
• Support scientists with sample labelling, submission, internal and external transport, and result tracking.
• Help prepare and run studies, including bioreactor assembly and disassembly, daily sampling, raw material dispensing and media/feed preparation.
• Propose laboratory improvements and take on additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• University degree; BSc or MSc preferred in biotechnology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering or a related field.
• 1-3 years of biotechnology experience is an advantage; practical lab experience and basic scientific knowledge in the field are also an advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written English, with a scientific, solution-oriented mindset, teamwork and adaptability.
