MRI Technologist – Imaging

About the role

Northwest Specialty Hospital is looking for a team‑oriented MRI Technologist to join its Imaging Team. The role involves performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring high‑quality images, and maintaining patient safety in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans on various anatomical regions following established protocols and standards.
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.
• Administer contrast agents under radiologist guidance and assist with interventional MRI procedures.
• Prepare patients by positioning, using immobilization devices, and providing clear explanations to reduce anxiety.
• Screen patients, family members, and visitors for safety compliance before entering the MRI suite.
• Adhere to infection‑control policies, drug protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Document patient care and imaging details accurately in departmental records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved two‑year Radiologic Technology program.
• MR registration, registry‑eligible, or actively documenting cases to sit for the registry within 18 months.
• Current BLS certification.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MRI equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of MRI physics and imaging principles.
• Experience with contrast agent administration and safety screening.
• Preventive maintenance of MRI systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
