About the role
Alcoa is seeking a Europe Industrial Hygiene Manager to lead and harmonise the Industrial Hygiene (IH) programme across its European sites. You will provide strategic direction, governance and subject‑matter expertise to protect employee health while supporting Alcoa’s global IH strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and standardise regional Industrial Hygiene programmes and processes.
- Support implementation of IH systems, including SDS systems, hazard identification, risk characterisation and exposure assessments.
- Partner with Corporate IH Manager and Health CoE to develop strategies that eliminate adverse health outcomes.
- Recommend and drive regional and global IH goals and KPIs.
- Participate in Alcoa Industrial Hygiene Lead Team and global technical forums.
- Facilitate sharing of IH best practices across European locations.
- Support sites in developing and maintaining comprehensive IH management programmes (respiratory protection, ergonomics, hearing conservation, radiation, hazardous materials management, new material reviews).
- Act as SME for selected Alcoa EHS standards and IH audit self‑assessment tools.
- Provide IH expertise for TSCA‑related matters and coordinate REACH compliance across Europe.
- Coach and mentor IH professionals and support capability development region‑wide.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in industrial hygiene or occupational health within a multi‑site, multinational environment.
- Proven ability to lead regional programmes, influence stakeholders and travel extensively across Europe.
