Local Pharmacovigilance Support & Medical Information Specialist (Freelance)

About the role

Freelance opportunity in Iceland to join a global team as a Local Pharmacovigilance Support Person and Medical Information Specialist. The role involves managing daily safety operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and acting as a key contact for timely safety processing. It is a remote 0.1 FTE position working closely with Nordic safety officers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform local PV operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Manage Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) and follow‑ups.
• Review local literature for safety information.
• Review local legislation relevant to pharmacovigilance.
• Conduct PV trainings for MAH employees.
• Handle Medical Information requests.
• Support Biomapas clients with other PV‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmacy, or Nursing.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and native Icelandic.
• At least 2 years experience in pharmacovigilance (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in pharmacovigilance and related legislation.
• Excellent knowledge of local and international regulations (ICH, EU GVP Modules).
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and present scientific data.
• Ability to apply global and local drug safety regulations.
• High motivation to develop and learn within the team.
