Local Pharmacovigilance Support & Medical Information Specialist (Freelance) – Iceland

About the role

We are looking for a motivated freelance professional to join our global safety team as a Local Pharmacovigilance Support Person and Medical Information Specialist based in Iceland. You will work remotely, collaborating closely with Nordic safety officers and medical information experts to ensure timely and compliant safety processing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform local pharmacovigilance (PV) operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Manage Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) and follow‑up (FUs).
• Review local scientific literature and legislation relevant to drug safety.
• Deliver PV training sessions to Marketing Authorization Holders (MAH) employees.
• Handle medical information requests from healthcare professionals.
• Support Biomapas clients with additional PV‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmacy, or Nursing.
• Fluent written and spoken English and native Icelandic.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance.
• Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations (ICH, EU GVP Modules).
• Analytical ability to interpret and present scientific data.
• Motivation to develop skills within a collaborative team.
